Have you ever wondered what it would be like to become a dragon? Well, in Genshin Impact's Natlan region, I got to experience exactly that through Saurian Indwelling! As I ventured through this new land, I discovered three incredible Saurian types that completely transformed how I explore and interact with the world.

My first encounter was with the mighty Tepetlisaurus - these Geo-aligned creatures are absolute units with their massive bodies and impressive horns. What surprised me most was discovering I could actually burrow underground with them! Imagine being able to dig beneath the surface and move rapidly while detecting hidden treasures. The best part? When I jump while underground, the Tepetlisaurus leaps out and can reenter wherever I land - even on vertical walls! This made climbing so much easier, though I had to keep an eye on my Phlogiston levels.

But wait, there's more! The attack ability creates powerful tremors that can reveal hidden objects. I found so many treasures I would have missed otherwise. Honestly, Tepetlisaurus feels like having a built-in treasure detector and climbing tool all in one!

Then I met the Yumkasaurus - now this Dendro-aligned creature is pure mobility magic! Who would have thought a dinosaur's tongue could be so versatile? The grappling hook ability is absolutely game-changing. I can swing across gaps, reach incredible heights, and even double-jump! The tongue grapple works twice in succession, and while aiming my next grapple point, I can hover in mid-air. How cool is that?

But that's not all - Yumkasaurus can also run up walls and grab Flamegranates with their tongue to throw as explosive projectiles. I've lost count of how many enemy camps I've surprised by raining explosive fruit from above! Compared to other Saurians, Yumkasaurus definitely feels like the most mobile option for exploring wide-open areas.

The Koholasaurus was my final discovery - these Hydro-aligned shark-like creatures are masters of liquid movement. They swim through water and liquid phlogiston at incredible speeds, and can even launch themselves out of the water with powerful lunges. What really amazed me was their ability to fly through Spiritways - those pre-established phlogiston paths that crisscross Natlan.

While they're not as versatile on land, Koholasaurus is absolutely essential for exploring areas like Toyac Springs. The Jet-Set Eddies ability lets me leap upward from specific points, making vertical navigation in watery areas surprisingly smooth.

What I love most about these Saurians is how each one feels uniquely suited to different exploration challenges:

  • Tepetlisaurus: Underground movement and vertical climbing

  • Yumkasaurus: Aerial mobility and long-distance travel

  • Koholasaurus: Aquatic exploration and phlogiston navigation

Each Saurian has transformed how I approach exploration in Natlan. The Saurian Indwelling mechanic doesn't just give me new movement options - it makes me feel like I'm truly becoming part of Natlan's ecosystem. I can't wait to see what new Saurian types HoYoverse adds in future updates!

Have you tried Saurian Indwelling yet? Which Saurian type resonates with your playstyle? For me, it's hard to choose - I find myself switching between all three depending on what challenges Natlan throws at me. The way each Saurian complements different exploration scenarios makes me appreciate how much thought went into designing this system.

What surprises me most is how each Saurian feels distinct not just in movement, but in personality too. The Tepetlisaurus feels sturdy and reliable, the Yumkasaurus is agile and playful, while the Koholasaurus embodies fluid grace. It's not just about getting from point A to point B - it's about enjoying the journey in a whole new way.

I'm particularly excited about the potential for future Saurian types. If these three are any indication, we might see Saurians aligned with other elements that offer even more specialized movement options. Can you imagine an Anemo Saurian that can create wind currents? Or a Cryo Saurian that freezes water paths? The possibilities are endless!

For now, I'm content mastering these three amazing creatures. Each discovery in Natlan feels fresh and exciting thanks to the Saurian Indwelling system. It's not just another gimmick - it's a fundamental shift in how we experience exploration in Teyvat. And honestly? I don't think I'll ever look at exploration the same way again.
